Dayalbagh Educational Institute Application forms for admission to various programs of the Institute are normally available from 25th of May each year. The last date for submission of completed forms is June 30 of each year.
Dayalbagh Educational Institute Admission Form

Candidates seeking admission to the various courses in the Institute shall apply on the Application Form which is to be purchased from the Institute, separately. The Application Form Fee is Rs.170/- (Non-refundable) at counter. The Application Form can also be obtained by Express Parcel/Registered Parcel Post by sending an 'Account Payee' Bank Draft for Rs.200/- in favour of "DAYALBAGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE" payable at AGRA along with a 4x8 cms. address slip. The Candidates should give full particulars and required certificates and payment of Non-refundable Fee towards Registration Fee and Application Processing Fee as under:

Last date for submission of forms (except for Ph.D.): June 30 each year.
Dates for submission of forms for admission to Ph.D.: 1st September and 1st March

Attested copy of the matriculation or equivalent certificate as proof of the date of birth.

Attested copies of certificates indicating participation and/or proficiency in games, sports, debates, N.C.C., N.S.S. etc. at college/university/district/state/national level competitions from the organisers of such competitions.

In the case of candidates belonging to the scheduled caste/scheduled tribe or backward class, an attested copy of the certificate duly signed by the Tehsildar/District Magistrate of the tehsil/district in which the candidate's father/guardian resides, to the effect that the candidate belongs to the caste falling under these categories.

Annual Income certificate of the Parents.
Verification Card', 'Admit Card' and 'Acknowledgement Card' duly filled in. The Verification Card and the Admit Card must have the same photograph as used in the Application Form. The applicants must neatly write their address on the back of the Acknowledgement Card and affix appropriate postal stamp on it.
Envelope with full postal address for conveying the result of admission application in due course.
Account Payee' Bank Draft for Rs.70/- for non-professional courses or Rs.110/- for professional courses as detailed in the Eligibility page drawn in favour of DAYALBAGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE payable at any bank at Agra.
Students applying for P.G. Diploma in Computer Science & Applications should enclose all marksheets showing paperwise marks obtained in Mathematics in various years of study of the qualifying examination.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute Admissions Process


Admissions are made on the basis of academic merit, written objective test, wherever specified and personal interview.
Final selection is made from the merit list prepared on the basis of academic merit, performance in the written objective test and personal interview. Further details are given in the subsequent paras.

Students who have appeared for B.A. final examination and the results of which are awaited may apply for provisional admission to M.A. and M.A. (Social Science) courses only. Such candidates must submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination along with its mark-sheet at the time of interview failing which their application will not be considered.

At present there is no written objective test for admission to M.A., M.A. (Social Science), M.Com., M.Sc.(Home Science), M.Sc., and admission to these courses will be made on the basis of academic merit and personal interview. Candidates will be called for interview on the basis of marks obtained in various pre-qualifying and/or qualifying examinations, as indicated below:

10% of marks at High School or equivalent examination, 15% of marks at Intermediate or equivalent examination, 25% of marks at the first degree examination and 25% of the marks in the concerned subject at the first degree examination.

Dayalbagh Radha soami Community


Dayalbagh, which translates as Garden of the Merciful, was founded in 1915 by Huzur Sahabji Maharaj, the fifth Revered Leader of Radhasoami Faith by planting a Mulberry tree, as an Ashram or the spiritual home of the followers of the Faith.Nobody owns any property in Dayalbagh individually. The land, the houses and institutions all belong to the community as a whole. People also live and work as a community.

Dayalbagh Agra Facility:-


There is an Allopathic hospital which also has a Maternity ward. Facilities exist for Ophthalmic and Dental treatment, Ultra-sound, ECG, and Pathological testing. All consultations and treatment are free for every one. The majority of patients are from outside Dayalbagh. There are Homeopathic and Ayurvedic dispensaries.

The Radhasoami Urban Cooperative Bank and the Dayalbagh Mahila Bank cater to the financial requirements of various organizations and individuals in the colony.

Small scale industries known as the Model Industries were established in 1916 to provide employment and a source of livelihood to the persons residing in the colony. It has done some pioneering work in the country.

Dayalbagh Engineering College, Dayalbagh, Agra established in 1950 as the first private Engineering College in India post-Independence, affiliated to Agra University, Agra, offering:B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.

In 1973 Engineering College became DEI Engineering College, one of three constituent colleges of the Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI) founded by Most Revered Dr. M. B. Lal Sahab as its Founder Director and In 1981 Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University) was established and the erstwhile DEI Engineering College became the DEI Faculty of Engineering.

To further the cause of women's education, Prem Vidyalaya was started in 1930. It is now an Intermediate College. The Women's Training College was established in 1947 for B.A. and B.Ed. classes. M.Ed. classes were added in 1958. M.A. in Psychology, English and Hindi in 1969 and M.A. (Music) in 1976. It made phenomenal progress to become one of the premier women's colleges in the country.Engineering College, affiliated to Agra University, for the degree of B.Sc. (Engineering), was the latest (1950) addition to the chain of educational institutions in Dayalbagh.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute (D.E.I.) has set forth a bold goal for itself: to become one of the top 20 educational institutions in the country by the year 2011. Keeping in line with the original philosophy of education at Dayalbagh, this goal set forth for the institute envisions making D.E.I. a top teaching-cum-research institute, leading others forward with the exemplary system of education that integrates (K-U) i.e. K through 12 through UG/PG to Ph.D. programmes.

The Dayalbagh educational institute (D.E.I.) is an elite institute for higher studies. The institute provides hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. Students who desire to avail the accommodation should apply on a prescribed form along with a passport size photograph to the Chief Warden of the concerned Hostel, through the respective Deans after their admission to the Institute. Students will be given a berth in the hostel only on the basis of merit and availability of seats. An admission to an institute does not guarantee a seat in the hostel. Only vegetarian food is served in the hostel. No alcohol, drug and other intoxicants are allowed inside the hostel.

About Sant Shri Seth Shive Dayal Singh( Swamiji):-


Param Sant Swami Seth Shiv Dayal Singh is also known as Swami ji, He was the first Satguru to start the teachings of Radha Soami faith. His actual name was Seth Shivdayal Singh ji. His parents were the followers of Param Sant Tulsi Sahib from Hathras, India. He was born with Param Sant Tulsi Sahib's blessings on August 25, 1818 in Panni street, Agra U.P. India. Sant Tulsi Sahib ji initiated him at the age of six. From a Vaishnava family, he studied under the guru Tulsi Sahib.
He practiced Surat Shabd Yoga for 15 years and started satsang publically on Vasant Panchami (a spring festival) in 1861. This schedule continued for 17 years. He passed away on June 5, 1878 in Panni street Agra Uttar Pradesh India.

Philosophy Of RadhaSoami:-


The tenets of the Faith are based on a living belief in the existence of God and Continuity after death. It is neither a religion nor a cast. It is believe in God. Radhasoami faith is based on the fact that Aatma is part of Paramaatma (God). Human body is made of five elements prithvi , jal , vayu , agni and aakash .

Samadhi of Swamiji Maharaj (DayalBagh Temple)

Shiv Dayal Sahib, popularly known as Soami Maharaj by his disciples, lived from in Dayal Bagh from 1818 to 1878. He is worshipped at this grand memorial that is a combination of temple, gurudwara, vihara and mosque.

Fact About DayalBagh Temple:-


The main thing of the region is the memorial of Swamiji Maharaj. The structure is a blend of mosque, temple and gurudwara architecture. The building is continuously under construction. Work has been going on at this building for over 100 years. Built in white marble the construction of the lofty structure started on 1904 A.D. and is believed never to be ended. The mini model of the actual 'Samadhi' is kept in a room in 'Swami Bagh', which can be seen after the permission of the Secretary.

The followers believe that tending the memorial is an ongoing process. You can see the work in progress at the Radhasoami memorial in Dayal Bagh Agra, on tours to Agra with Agra Hub. Above this platform will be constructed a two-storied building, with four minarets at each corner and a big dome in the center. Previously its estimated cost was about 50 lakhs, which has increased now.

There is a colony, meant for the followers of Radha Swami Faith. They have its own Municipal system, own banks, own agricultural land, industry and a deemed university of its own with colleges of Education and Engineering College.

Other attraction of this building is its garden. Also known as the "garden of the Supreme Lord".

Dayalbagh Educational Institute or D.E.I. is an educational institution located at Dayalbagh on the outskirts of the historic city of Agra, approximately 200 kilometers from New Delhi. The institute has been given the deemed university status by the University Grants Commission of India in 1981.

Initially founded as a primary school in 1917 and then a technical college in 1927 for imparting training in automobile, electrical and mechanical engineering. The Leather Working School, started in 1930, gives instructions in both theory and practice for manufacture of leather goods. it later developed into a Deemed University. Dr. M.B. Lal Sahab, a former Vice Chancellor of the Lucknow University, founded the institution was also a director of D.E.I.

The Radhasoami memorial is 110 feet high, has impressive pillars and is made of pure white marble.


The prime attraction of the region is the memorial of Swamiji Maharaj. The structure is a blend of mosque, temple and gurudwara architecture. Built in white marble the construction of the lofty structure started on 1904 A.D. and is believed never to be ended. An institute named Radha Swami Institute also has been erected. Every year hundreds of devotes come to the place and pay homage to Swami Maharaj.

Dayal Bagh is famous for its textiles, Durri-works, leather goods and artistic small marble items or products. Now a day, this religious sect has got a division-having three branches Dayal Bagh, Swami Bagh and Hazuri Bhawan, (Pipal Mandi) branch, having all separate 'Gurus' as their religious heads. But some of their functions are common (like Bhandara of Radha Swami Maharaj), having common ideal logics of religion. The Dayalbagh Gardens would surely be an interesting place to visit for connoisseurs of art, who would love to watch the skilled artisans and marble cutters at work.

According to the 2001 census Dayalbagh had a population of 3324. The sex ratio is more or less even. Male constitutes 51% while females 49%. The literacy rate in Dayalbagh is quite high. The average literacy rate in Dayalbagh is 76% which is higher than the national average of 59.5%. Literacy among the male folk is 85% while that among the women is 68%. 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.
